Classic  Jazz, Blues & Latin  Lounge  music

It’s mid-July, and I’m thrilled to share that the second half of 2025 is shaping up to be just as productive—and maybe even more exciting—than the first. Since my last update, there’s been a wave of progress across the board, and I want to take a moment to fill you in on everything happening behind the scenes at both SoulePhix and Cinco Verde Publishing LLC.

Let’s start with the biggest headline: the remastering of all 13 tracks for my debut album is officially complete. These remastered versions—featuring classic jazz, New Orleans blues, and Latin lounge—will not only remain available in digital format on your favorite streaming platforms but will also form the foundation for my upcoming vinyl LP release set for this holiday season. It’s incredibly fulfilling to see this phase come together after months of studio sessions, social media releases, and carefully curated track selections. With the vinyl LP finally in motion, I can now begin prepping the physical production details—jacket design, liner notes, barcode registration, and packaging.

But that’s not all. On June 13, I released the full digital version of the album, a 12-song journey through soulful jazz standards and genre-bending grooves. Each track received its own promotional push across platforms like Facebook, Instagram, X, and YouTube. Thanks to those efforts, the songs were picked up on six different Spotify playlists, giving new listeners from around the world a chance to discover the SoulePhix sound.

In fact, speaking of global reach—I recently launched a series of targeted Spotify campaigns in four international regions: the Netherlands, Germany, Brazil, and Australia. These campaigns were designed to introduce new audiences to my genre-blending style of jazz, blues, and Latin rhythm. I’m happy to report that the response has been encouraging, and it’s sparked new plans to engage more deeply with international jazz festivals and press outlets in those regions. I’ll be preparing performance materials and festival submissions in the coming months—so stay tuned for more on that front.

On the business side, I’ve been tightening up the legal foundation for Cinco Verde Publishing LLC to ensure that all royalty streams and rights are properly secured. As of June 17, I filed copyright applications for three original songs—“When I Got You,” “Journey,” and “Golden Moment”—through Easy Song Licensing. These same songs were published under Cinco Verde and distributed via CD Baby. I’ve taken care to ensure all publishing and royalty information reflects Cinco Verde as the rightful payee, which helps me retain full creative and financial control over my catalog. If you're an artist reading this and haven't taken this step yet—please do. It’s empowering.

Another important development is the work now underway to legally bring my musical collaborators into the publishing fold. Curtis Edwards and Ray Martinez—both essential to the SoulePhix sound—are currently being contracted via formal Publishing Assignment Agreements, which will assign their music contributions directly to Cinco Verde Publishing LLC. These agreements not only protect everyone’s rights but also solidify the business structure for future sync licensing, award submissions, and royalty payments.

And yes, I’m still moving forward with the lyric and sheet music book, which will complement the vinyl LP as part of a deluxe product offering. I plan to include handwritten lyrics, original compositions, and possibly a few personal notes and stories behind the songs. The sheet music book is expected to go to print around the same time as the vinyl—just in time for holiday release.

For those of you who’ve asked about merchandise, I’m also finalizing a line of SoulePhix-branded candles that will be available in time for fall and winter gift-giving. These will be part of a special holiday bundle that includes the vinyl LP, lyric book, and candle set—perfect for any vintage jazz lover or lounge music enthusiast.

There’s still work to be done, but I’ve never felt more aligned with my purpose. As I build this brand, I’m not just creating songs—I’m building an ecosystem where classic sound meets modern business strategy. Everything from copyright protection to international marketing is being aligned with my ultimate goal: worldwide recognition and acclaim for my musical contributions and songwriting, and eventually, an invitation to perform at a major jazz festival.

So what’s next? In the coming weeks, I’ll be launching the official preorder campaign for the vinyl LP and lyric book combo, updating my EPK to include festival-ready performance footage, and submitting press materials to global jazz publications. I’ll also be reconnecting with you through my blog and newsletter to share sneak peeks and behind-the-scenes reflections.

Until then, thank you for following the SoulePhix journey. Whether you’ve streamed my music, shared a post, or simply cheered me on from afar—I see you, and I appreciate you more than words can say.

Onward,
Mallah
