SoulePhix

Classic  jazz, blues & Latin  lounge  music

Hello, SoulePhix fans and welcome back!  This past week has been filled with some wonderful moments of inspiration, a few setbacks and some promising new opportunities.  As I am ever the optimist, let’s begin with the highlights:

I had the absolute pleasure of attending my second Pink Martini concert on January 6th at the historic Paramount Theater in Austin, Texas. The century old venue has hosted the likes of music greats like Duke Ellington, Cab Calloway and Miles Davis. Pink Martini’s performance there was nothing short of mesmerizing! They featured a new trombone player from Greece whose playing was truly transcendent. China Forbes has such a gorgeous voice! I sat there immersed in their lush musical arrangements and I found myself brimming with new ideas for my own projects. One particularly exciting takeaway from the concert was purchasing sheet music for one of their songs. As a songwriter and performer, I’m always looking for ways to refine my craft and analyzing their sheet music provides a fantastic example of professional composition. It’s inspired me to revisit how I approach my own upcoming sheet music projects for sure.

Not all news this week has been rosy, though. I encountered an annoying setback when I lost access to my Redbubble merchandise account. This was an unexpected blow, as I’d been relying on Redbubble to offer merchandise for SoulePhix fans. Losing access not only means I’ll need to find an alternative platform to handle my merchandise sales, but also revise every single platform that links to that account. See what I mean by annoying? It certainly cut into my radio submission time this week. It’s been a challenge, but challenges often come with opportunities. I’m determined to turn this situation around. What else can I do? I certainly won’t allow it to be the reason I stop all progress on my dream.

On a brighter note, I may have found a potential vendor for offering uniquely scented candles as part of SoulePhix’s merchandise offerings. This idea has been in the works for a while and discovering a potential vendor who aligns with my vision is an exciting development indeed. I’ve always believed that music is about more than sound; it’s about creating and immersing oneself in an atmosphere and an experience of sensory delight. Incorporating beautifully scented candles into the SoulePhix merchandise line feels like a natural extension of that philosophy. It’s early days, but this could be the start of something wonderful. Thanks so much for the tip, Ramon "Ray" Martinez.

As I move forward, my focus remains steady. I’ll continue to explore ways to connect SoulePhix and Cinco Verde legally for the Meta Verification process this coming week and I’ll start researching replacement platforms for merchandise. Meanwhile, the inspiration from Pink Martini will guide me as I refine my music and merchandise offerings. To all my fans and supporters, thank you for joining me on this journey. Your encouragement means the world to me, and I’m excited to share more updates with you in the weeks to come.
