It’s been an eventful week, and I’m feeling excited about the progress I’ve made with my music and business. As always, there’s a lot going on behind the scenes and I’m grateful to have the opportunity to share it all with you.
First off, I’m thrilled to share that I’ve been making some big financial steps forward with my music publishing business, Cinco Verde Publishing LLC. I received my new business credit card! It’s one of those small but significant milestones that makes everything feel more real. I’ve been using it to help with the expenses related to my music career, from production costs to marketing efforts. As part of my business expansion, I’ve been focusing on opening a new checking account for Cinco Verde Publishing LLC. I’m currently shopping for the right bank to partner with. It’s a little tricky because I want to make sure I choose one that offers the best benefits for my business needs, but I’m confident that once I find the right fit, it will streamline everything from payments to royalties. It’s a step I’ve been meaning to take for a while, and I’m hoping to finalize it soon to streamline everything properly financially speaking.
In the creative world, things are also moving at full speed. As I mentioned last week, I wrote a new song that I am putting the finishing touches on. I decided what I needed was a violin to enhance the piece. To that end, one of the biggest highlights of this particular week was reaching out to Ian Stewart, the incredible violinist who performed on my song “Perhaps Perhaps Perhaps.” I’ve always admired Ian’s musical skill and artistry and I’m hoping that he is available to collaborate on a new song. Ian is a busy man nowadays working with the band, Asleep At The Wheel. SoulePhix is of course, an ever-changing group of talented musicians, whom I utilize as needed. Music collaboration is one of the best parts of SoulePhix. There’s something magical about working with talented musicians who bring their own unique energy to the project. Fingers crossed that he even has the time to come down to the studio. I’d love to have him back for this project.
On top of that, I’ve been actively working with Curtis Edwards, my longtime collaborator and guitarist, on another major goal of ours: getting our songs scored into sheet music. We’ve both been looking for a competent music composer who can help us with this process. It’s something we’ve been wanting to do for a while, and I’m really excited to move forward with it. Curtis has been reaching out to some potential candidates and we’re hopeful that we’ll find the right person who can translate our music into sheet music with precision and artistry. It’s another big step toward sharing our music with a wider audience and giving fans the chance to experience it in a whole new way plus it is a merchandise product that can help grow the business.
Speaking of merchandise, I’m gearing up for an exciting opportunity as well. I’m meeting with a new candle vendor later this month to discuss adding unique scented candles to my SoulePhix brand. I’ve always been interested in creating products that align with my music and the vibe of my brand. Scented candles are something that feels like a natural extension of the soulful and calming atmosphere I aim to create with my music. I’m looking forward to exploring this new venture and seeing where it goes.
This week has been a reminder of just how much progress can happen in a short amount of time when one applies oneself toward a goal. There’s still much work to be done, but I’m incredibly excited for what the future holds. It really is all about the journey for me on this. Thank you to everyone who has supported me along the way. Your encouragement and belief in my music mean the world to me. On that note, I want to take a minute to show my most sincere appreciation to SoulePhix fan, Jeffrey Taylor who passed away recently. Jeff was always very supportive of my music ventures and I was truly crushed and saddened to hear of his sudden passing. He will be missed! I will carry his kind words of support with my music ventures always. God bless you and rest in peace, Jeff.
